Things you need to Make Thermal Nail Polish

Leuco dye
White, Clear, or pale polish 
Funnel
Empty nail polish bottle
Steel or glass ball bearing to mix

Leuco Dye:
Buying the right leuco dye is the key to the success of making the Thermal Nail Polish. Normally, the Leuco dyes are available in 15 colours and these also mainly requires to set at the minimum temperature of 5ºF (3ºC) for shifting the colours. 

Leuco Dye mainly available in the form of a slurry, epoxy, powder, or water-based ink. Having the right amount of powder in the form of microcapsules would be a much more efficient option. In fact, it is much easier to choose dye with a transition temperature of 88ºF (31ºC). The main reason is that the nails of the human will be cooler than that of the original body temperature. 

Choice Of Nail Polish:

Fill empty polish bottle in a funnel over half full of the nail polish. 

With completely adding the Leuco dye, it is a more efficient option for achieving the desired colour which will be 1/8 teaspoon. Now you can easily mix the Polish then cap bottle.

When the resulting polish is thicker, then you can add the nail polish thinner (few drops), or you could also add the clear topcoat. It is not advisable for adding the Acetone or any other nail polish remover as chemicals. 
When you like to increase the beauty of the nail polish, then you could conveniently add the Holo or Glitter. 
With the use of a clear base in Thermal Nail Polish, Leuco dye would give a clear look when the temperature is warm.

Nail polish having the changes in the color based on the temperature is not created in the best quality. Normally, some brands of the Nail polish color changes when it is exposed to the heat of hot shower or blow dryer or dipped into the ice water. Since most of the nail polish is sensitive, it may have changes in the color of the nail polish. Below are the set of tips that gives you more ideas about having a good style of nail polish. 

Some nail polish has a matte or dull looking colour. So, you can apply the glossy top coat for adding shine. This offers UV protection. 

Thermal polish mainly has a shelf life. Most of the manufacturers state that color changes in the nail polish would be seen only after a year. The shelf life of the photochromic and thermochromic polishes are shortened with adequate exposure to the UV light or sunlight, contact with solvents and exposure to the high temperatures.

Normally, the temperature-controlled products have the pigment called the Leuco Dyes. Most have the tiny little spheres, which is called as the Microcapsules. It will be about 1 to 10 microns.
